Intro

Creating engaging content for your followers is VITAL. Because yes, there is such thing as boring content on Social Media. Are you ever scrolling on your favorite platform and see an ad that you scroll away from immediately because it didn’t catch your interest? It happens to all of us, and it is extremely important that you are not one of these ads. On the other hand, there are some ads that grab our attention right away! Whether it’s the product, the words, or you just like how it looks, there are many different aspects to an engaging advertisement. So let’s break down a couple Startegies to use on your next advertisement to make sure users don’t scroll away.

Keywords and Phrasing

Whether we realize it or not, the wording Marketers use in advertisement is entirely thought out. The words we here are important, some will turn us off to an idea, some will peak our interest. So what are some great keywords you can use on your advertisements? Here is a list of a couple:
 -Guarantee
 -Save
 -Free
 -Authentic
 -Fast
 -You
 -Soon
 -Hurry
 -Cancel Anytime

These kind of words grab attention, it sparks an interest in your viewer. They can think to themselves, “Well this sale is going Fast, I better Hurry and buy now!” Think to yourself, what words would capture your attention? Put yourself in the viewers shoes, if you look at your post and think, “This is Boring”, then obviously, don’t post it! Use enticing and attention grabbing words, and stay away from words that will turn off a customer. What words negatively affect a customer however? Here are a couple to stay away from:

 -Swear Words
 -”In today’s World”
 -”Leading in the Industry”

This kind of phrases are too “salesy”, which can lead a viewer to believe this advertisement is just like any other business selling something. The #1 goal you should have as a Marketer is for your post to stand out, in the good way of course. When you use cheesy and cliche marketing words like above, all it does is blend your Ad in with the others.
So make sure you are being careful with what words you use. With all Content you write, ask outside parties what they think of it. This is a great tool to use to gauge how the world will feel about your ad.

Video Content

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well a video is a million then. Picture ads even with the right words can sometimes be forgettable, after all it’s just a simple picture. However, if you have an engaging, entertaining, and informative video promoting your brand, now that’s something a viewer might never forget.
With a Video, you have a lot of freedom to promote your product as you want. However there are a couple good qualities a good advertising video have. Here are a couple:

 - Fast Paced:
If your video promoting your business is boring and slow, a viewer is just going to swipe away. You need to make sure your video is fast and gets right to the point because every year attentions spans are getting shorter and shorter. How do you make sure your video isn’t boring? Ask the people around you what they think (And tell them to be honest).

 - You can make it funny:
Especially on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, entertaining/funny promotions are a great tool to standing out amongst other competitors. It is okay to crack a couple jokes, or edit your video in a funny way. Just make sure of course you are still being informative. Be creative! The more original your video is the better.

 - Show a Face in your Videos
There is not a better way to gain trust among viewers than showing the owner/creator behind the entire business. If the owner is in your video, maybe talking about the product or why they started the company, this establishes credibility. It tells the viewer that this isn’t a scam because they see a nice, friendly person behind it all. Gaining trust among clients is extremely important, and this is a great way to do that.

Videos overall are a great form of advertising, and we here at Alcom Online recommend you take this avenue.

Ask Questions

Whether it is a photo or a video advertisement, a question can spark the interest of a viewer at home. This ensures that your post is not stagnant. It is not just another post with information and a price. A question can make your viewer do just that, question. But why would we want our viewer to question? You want your potential customers to start thinking, that in the end, is the entire purpose of your ad. Even if they don’t purchase right away, they might think about it enough to the point that they come around to buying what you are selling.
The goal of a Marketer is to just plant a seed in that viewers head. If you can spark the interest of someone by asking a question, then you have done your job.

So you can ask your viewer:
-”When’s the last time you thought of ___”
-”What are you waiting for”

Try and stay away from questions that start with “Do”. This can go in hand with bad communication. It can seem cliche and often turning a customer away. Questions for your brand are going to be different than other companies. So ask yourself, what can of questions do you want your demographic to be thinking? How can you plant the see of your viewer? That is our question to you.

If you use these 3 Startegies we guarantee you that your advertisement will be more likely to get views and responses because your are grabbing the viewers attention!
